9 Tips - Lighten Hair Naturally

Want lighter hair? Well all of us do in summer. However, harsh chemicals and their bad effects keep most of us from embracing the procedure.
Wish you could find that highlights and dyes your hair naturally? Here are some natural hair lightening recipes that use all natural ingredients to keep damage away from your hair.
1. Tea
Did you know chamomile tea, is a great lightening agent? In fact black tea is also a superb hair lightening agent. IT works towards keeping your hair in healthy state always. You just need to get boil some water and steep the tea bag for about 10 minutes. As soon as the tea has cooled, just rinse your hair with it. Leave the mixture on for about 15 minutes. You need to do this at least 2-3 times in a day to get the lightening effect.
2. Honey and Vinegar
Honey is known to be a superb hair lightening ingredient. You simply need to mix it with a moisturising agent such as olive oil and super shine agent vinegar to get maximum effect. Mix about two cups of distilled vinegar with a cup of raw honey and a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. Also add a tablespoon of ground cinnamon. Make sure you mix all of the ingredients well and apply onto damp hair. Use a brush or comb to make sure the mixture is distributed on hair equally. Wrap hair in plastic wrap and leave the mixture overnight. Wash it out in the morning. Honey has traces of hydrogen peroxide, a lightening agent. The mixture of cinnamon and extra virgin olive oil enhances the lightening effect.
3.Lemon
Lemon is a proven lightening agent. Simply mix a cup of water with about 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and apply it to your hair. Thereafter, sit in the sunlight until your hair dries. This helps in lightening your hair naturally and subtly.
4.Rhubarb
This works really great for hair during summer. You may even grow it at home or pick up from a local grocery store. Boil about ¼ cup chopped rhubarb in 2 cups water. Allow the mixture to cool completely and strain and use the liquid as a rinse. Now leave on the rinse for at least 10 minutes and then just rinse clear with water. This procedure will lighten your hair in the long run.
5.Cinnamon
Apart from being a hair lightener, cinnamon works as a growth booster. It smells great too. All you need to do is add a handful of cinnamon powder to conditioner and coat your hair evenly top to bottom. Also comb your hair with the mixture to ensure even coating. Now tie your hair up in a bun and secure with a clip. You may even use a shower cap to hold your hair in place and leave the mixture on overnight. Next morning, rinse and shampoo first thing in the morning. This mixture is known to be a safe option for hair. Regular application will help you see highlights.
6.Henna Powder
You must mix henna powder with chamomile tea powder, baking powder and boiling water to make it work as a great lightening agent. Mix both ingredients well and apply on hair for 30-45 minutes and wash off with regular shampoo. Baking soda is known to be a fabulous ingredient for stripping hair of harmful chemical buildup. It is best used as a lightening agent. This is an easy recipe for lightening your hair. All you need to do is mix equal amounts of henna and chamomile powder and baking soda. Now prepare a thick paste via adding boiling water. Allow this mixture to cool and then comb it into your wet hair. Cover using a shower cap or a plastic bag over your hair. Now leave the mixture on for at least 30 minutes. For darker hair, you can leave on for up to two hours. Now remove the plastic and rinse the mixture from your hair. This takes a while longer than other methods but if you use baking soda on your hair about once each week, you can strip harmful chemicals out and lighten your hair naturally over time.
7.Vitamin C
This is good for your hair. You simply need to take about 8-9 vitamin C tablets and crush them. Now mix in with your favorite shampoo and use it as usual.
8.Vinegar
This is an old trick. Simply rinse your hair with water and vinegar and you can lighten your hair colour. Just mix one part vinegar with 6 parts water for rinsing hair. Leave the rinse on for as a minimum of 15 minutes. Apple cider vinegar is known to work the best for hair.
9.Salt
This is easy. You simply need to mix salt with water to get natural lightening. No wonder those who swim a lot in sea water have naturally highlighted hair. Here, simply mix 1 part salt with about 5 parts water and rinse your hair. Also allow the concoction to sit in hair for at least 15 minutes. Rinse clean later on.
